We went to Cambridge by train yesterday for the evening wedding celebration of a former colleague. On the way we saw a good "big sky" sunset - I took this photo from the moving train.
At the event (in a cocktail bar called Snug) I caught up with several former colleagues. I greeted one, and turned to his companion and said "and you must be Mrs. H-" (congratulating myself on having remembered the surname). She looked embarrassed. My former colleague quickly said "er, no, actually this is A-, my girlfriend. I'm getting divorced."
Oops! Well, how was I to know? It got the conversation going, anyway!
